Tucson Summer Reading Programs

May 20, 2016
Keeping your kids stimulated this summer won't be a problem with Tucson Summer Reading Programs (and a few offered on-line as well).

Local Programs:

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program - Summer Reading Triathalon:
Barnes & Noble's Summer Reading program is celebrating 20 years! Kids in 1st-6th grade can participate and earn a FREE book. Here is how it works:
  1. Download and print the Reading Journal.
  2. Children complete any 3 of the 4 questions in the Reading Journal, and bring the completed journal to a local Barnes & Noble store between May 17th and September 6th, 2016.
  3. Choose a FREE book from the selection on the Reading Journal list at Barnes & Noble and listed on the back of the journal.
  4. Additional ideas for parents and educators and are available in the printable Activity Kit.
Bookmans Read 10 Get 1 FREE Program: Children can earn a FREE book by completing 10 simple book reports. They simply need to include their name, age, book title and author, and why they liked or disliked the book. They can even include drawings. After all 10 book reports have been completed they can be turned into any Bookmans and your child will receive a FREE book from the store. (Note: This program is available all year long, not just for summer reading!)

Chuck E. Cheese Reading Rewards Program: Children who read daily for two weeks and complete the printable reading calendar can earn 10 Chuck E. Cheese tokens. Check your local Chuck E. Cheese for participation.

Pima County Library's Summer Learning Program: Become a Library Superstar this summer! From May 21-July 16, children and teens are encouraged to complete activities on the Summer Learning game board, read 20 minutes a day, attend FREE library events, and keep track their progress. FREE books are available the week of May 31st for children and teens (while supplies last). Stop by your local library starting May 21 to pick up the game board and get started on your journey to Library Superstar!
