The Holidays are Upon Us!

Food for Thought from the Publisher

November 17, 2011

Well, I don't know about all of you, but I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving! It seems like at Halloween time Thanksgiving still seemed so far away - then BAM! Here it is! My family will be a little non-traditional this year and will be dining out. Since my husband will be home for Thanksgiving, which isn't always the case with a flight attendant husband, I would much rather be spending time with family than doing dishes. OK, I'd rather be doing that any time, but especially during the holidays.

For those of you who will be pulling out all the stops for Thanksgiving, I've included some articles in this week's newsletter that will hopefully help you and your families have as stress-free of a holiday as possible.

One of the biggest stressors during the holidays is time - or lack of it. So I've included an article on how to actually create more time during the holidays (is that possible?). You can read it here.

Another thing that many people have a love-hate relationship with during the holidays is food. Thanksgiving is one of the few times during the year that all of the really good food is available. In abundance. So, I've included an article on how to survive holiday feasts and keep your waistline under control.

Having kids around during the holidays can be so much fun. But it can also be incredibly stressful as well. Hopefully this article on ways to keep the kids busy and engaged while the turkey is cooking will help you make it through.

In addition, there's a cute turkey cookie recipe and craft that the kids can participate in, and a VERY cute Turkey shirt for your little one to sport on - what else - Turkey Day!

As usual, the calendar is full of fun things to do this week - just check here and here. I will be at Novemberfest Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, so stop by to do some holiday shopping and to say "hi". Make sure you bring a few friends to subscribe to this FREE newsletter. Another great event coming up is the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts on December 3 and 4. Mark it on your calendars!

Another place to do holiday shopping is our Holiday Gift Guide! You'll find books, educational toys, eco-friendly cloth diapers and products, and great bargains on top-quality children's clothing at affordable prices! But don't take my word for it - take a look!

If YOU would like to be a part of the Holiday Gift Guide, it's not too late to be included. You can contact me here if you're interested.

Have a great, pre-Thanksgiving week everyone!
